Potrero Media Corporation is an online media and publishing company specializing in search engine marketing (SEM). The company builds and manages a network of web properties that provide high quality consumer content, reaching thousands of consumers each and every day. Potrero Media excels at driving qualified traffic to websites by using both paid search and search engine optimization techniques. The Marketing Internship is a great opportunity to learn about marketing and advertising from both a creative and analytical perspective.
As a Marketing Intern at Potrero Media, elements of your role include:
- Research: conduct both online and offline research to develop fresh, innovative copy and ideas
- Analysis / Reporting: analyze large datasets with Excel, Access, and other database tools
- Web Publishing: perform basic tasks in Dreamweaver using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
- QA Testing & Web Usability: QA websites for copy and grammar, as well as for application functionality. Implement strategies to improve usability on various websites.
- Perform other activities as needed, including writing copy, generating keywords, sending email, and making calls when necessary.
Our ideal candidate is:
- Extremely Internet savvy, and knows how to use search engines like Google or Yahoo! to find anything - absolutely anything - on the Web
- Not afraid to roll up his/her sleeves to get the job done
- Someone who loves data, can recognize patterns, and draw reasonable conclusions from thorough analysis of the facts
- Someone who has a sharp eye for detail and the ability to edit grammar
- Someone who has previous writing or editing experience
- Someone who has previous experience with web-publishing software or desktop publishing software (Dreamweaver experience is a huge plus)
- Able to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- Enthusiastic and has a "can-do" attitude

Compensation
