| I think nanny wages follow the same supply-demand rules as any other profession. If the market is such that there is an abundace of childcare and not enough parents to employ everyone, wages would come down fast enough - as with all fields! Over/under paid is highly subjective. You could argue that software engineers were way overpaid in the boom days. Certainly, high tech salaries have come down - job descriptions are the same, skillsets are the same, the only thing that has changed is the market.
