I hired an unlic. elec. off craig's list. He had something called, "a back feed" from a neutral wire he didn't connect right. It burned my electronics, fridge, computer up in smoke. He said he was, "certified." He said it was guaranteed. He won't return my calls, or pay for the damages because he has no insurance. I'm not even sure I have his real name. When I called a lic. elec. to fix it, he said, "I don't want my name on someone else's job." It cost $8000 to fix it. We had to break open walls, paint and patch the damaged areas. I will never hire anyone like that again.
