Since 1993 BandWorks has been committed to offering a fun and supportive environment for musicians to play in a rock band, meet other musicians, develop their skills, and perform live onstage.
We hold classes around the Bay Area, in rehearsal studios and schools. Teachers are hired for each band in our program, to lead a band in a 2-hour rehearsal each week, for 8 consecutive weeks.. The bands are grouped by age and start as young as 9-10. We lead classes for adults as well. We have a great training session for teachers getting started with us, and we continue to learn from everyone who comes to work for us.
As we grow our priority is to continue to offer an inclusive and fun program and to build the supportive community of musicians that has become BandWorks. For more information please see our website at www.bandworks.com.
TEACHER qualifications:
Experience playing rock music
Experience teaching music
Some level of competence playing guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and other instruments
Skillful at encouraging and motivating students of all ages
Responsible
