Hi. I'm a produced screenwriter with a really cool new script. Having produced before, I'd like to do this one right, and not relinquish control to some cheeseball execs who will gut it in development and probably shelve it after they've ruined it (as is par for Hellywood.) If anyone reading this has access to independent mad money and wants to be a producer, let's talk. Although it does take enormous focus and hard work and intelligence and common sense, making movies does not have to be the hellish experience it usually is.
Hollywood is stagnating, thanks to unprecedented levels of nepotism and cronyism and a grotesquely bloated development process. The box office numbers reflect the decline in quality and the disconnect between the powers-that-be and the average movie-goer.
I've chosen to post this in the Bay area in hopes of connecting with some enlightened investors who can afford to take a reasonable but not unsubstantial risk. The deal I'm looking for encompasses completely independent production and distribution. Without the exorbitant overhead of the studios, it can be pulled off efficiently, effectively and very profitably, one film at a time.
