though totally irrelevant, i am degreed. having any sort of degree from any particular college does not make one a good tutor, so beware of your emotions directing your actions!!!!
I have tutored hundreds of students at the high school and college level in math up to calculus, including statistics and chemistry up to organic. I was extremely effective as I understand the art of learning.
I tutor ESL as well, and find it quite enjoyable. I have a great fondness for words!
I charge $40/hr for math and chem tutoring (formerly $50/hr in san mateo, so this is already a discount).
For ESL, I am willing to charge a modest $20/hour.
In any event, if you tell me a compelling story why I should charge you less. I am willing to negotiate as I do know not all persons have the funds to afford.
p.s. also looking for chess and scrabble players for fun. I can tutor chess for up to a1650 UCSF rating at the same rate as for ESL.
