| The Superintendent Trainee is a member of the MTC management team who, under moderate supervision, develops increasing responsibility for directing the pre-plan, execution and supervision of the duties and labor normally associated with all aspects of cargo handling activities, to achieve safe, efficient, and profitable operations. The Superintendent Trainee increasingly develops the ability to direct the activities of longshore personnel (including Longshoremen, Foremen, Marine Clerks and Terminal Office Workers, as appropriate). The Superintendent Trainee, as a part of management development, is also responsible for maintaining positive and productive relations with the labor unions which represent MTC personnel, as well as with MTC customers. The Superintendent Trainee will participate in an on the job management development process. Travel to other Terminals is required.
