Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

Location: Manufacturing Facility and Headquarters, Oakland, California

SUMMARY
Provide day-to-day floor support, improve productivity and profitability of existing processes, support existing products throughout their life cycle, implement new products launch into the facility, with limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Floor Support: Provide timely product and process support to manufacturing in problem solving to minimize interruptions in production.

New product Introductions: Serves as manufacturing representative for the implementation of new products into the factory. Ensures that new products meet cost/profit targets, implemented per schedules, and that they conform to manufacturing capabilities. Evaluates make versus buy scenarios.

Improvements: Evaluate, identify and implement processes to improve flow, material handling, and enhance cost reduction.

Works on special projects, participates on task forces and perform other work as requested by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None. Interacts daily with production management and factory employees.

Good mechanical and technical aptitude.
Knowledge about project management process.
Understanding of roles played by manufacturer, dealer and designer.


KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
4 year technical degress or equivalent education.
Previous manufacturing or engineering experiences an asset.
Proficient in AutoCad and 3D modeling software: ProE, SolidWorks.
Knowledge of wood and metal manufacturing processes an asset.
Experiences in contract furniture an asset.

None required.
