Eden Housing Resident Services, Inc. (EHRSI) seeks a full time Manager, Computer-Assisted Education, for a 145-unit apartment complex in San Jose, California serving families and throughout Eden Housing computer labs located in the following cities: Petaluma, Antioch, Hercules, Livermore and E. Palo Alto. The Manager for Computer-Assisted Education is responsible for all computer services and computer-related instructional programs provided to Eden Housing residents. At both existing and new sites, s/he oversees the full life cycle of these services and programs. With new sites this includes: strategic planning; program development; capacity-building; and service delivery. Duties include: Develops age and grade appropriate computer-assisted learning programming for children, adults and families at existing computer centers within Eden’s portfolio. Collaborates with outside organizations to leverage resources and expand upon programming within Eden’s computer learning centers. Creates program goals and measurable outcomes as well as method to track and evaluate program’s success. Manages existing and new program related grants and ensure contract compliance. Develop program replication strategy for use at new Eden properties. Hires, trains, supervise and evaluates computer center staff at all sites. Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers and student interns at all sites. Develop cohesive team of staff and volunteers working in each computer center. Provide training and workshops for computer center participants as needed. Develop relationships with schools, businesses, and community-based organizations to facilitate collaborative efforts to support computer-assisted learning program goals. Prepare monthly reports of activities for the Associate Director of Resident Services. Prepare grant reports as required by funding sources. Work with Property Management Department staff and other Resident Services Department staff to ensure smooth integration of computer-assisted learning programs on the properties.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Four-year college degree in education, computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training concerning the provision of technology related programming
• Knowledge and experience in program development and evaluation
• Demonstrated teaching experience, with both children and adults, strongly preferred. Substantial training in teaching/educational models may be considered in lieu of direct teaching experience.
• Supervisory and/or volunteer coordination experience.
• Grant-writing/fundraising experience strongly preferred.
• Highly PC and Mac literate
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
• Must provide own transportation to visit computer-learning centers throughout Northern California (will be reimbursed for mileage) and hold valid California Driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Ability to recruit volunteers or other unpaid staff and supervise their activities.
