Major Responsibilities:
- Partner with sourcing channels and Merchandising to manage development and sampling strategy; manage exceptions to program level Time & Action calendar.
- Provide technical manufacturing expertise to resolve development and sourcing issues.
- Monitor and ensure on-time delivery of development by troubleshooting issues with team, sourcing channels, and logistics.
- Manage end to end costing process to achieve Initial Markup goal to the program and department level
- Manage and communicate timing, technical, sourcing issues at season start up and through the development cycle.
- Collaborate with overseas Sourcing offices on the seasonal and annual sourcing strategy for relevant departments.
- Help drive the creative direction by presenting latest trends and innovation in Bags, Belts and other Accessories.
- Utilize technical expertise to translate design's intent/aesthetic into clear, executable direction within production/placement strategies and mill/vendor limitations for Bags Belts and other Accessories.
- Drive production seasonal and annual hindsight and forecast process.
- Recommend product adjustment and changes as necessary to meet technical and cost needs.
- Manage and track production details, cut dates, delivery and booking milestones.
- Lead weekly production update with cross-functional team.
- Identify receipt month problems and recommend action plan.
- Manage seasonal costing package process.
- Create product placement plan and present sourcing or costing options to achieve financial goals.
- Confirm program placement with sourcing channels.
- Develop an action plan for post-placement open issues.
- Create teams and partnerships across functions.
- Lead and manage a production team.
- Recruit/Hire/Retain/Succession Plan for a department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Manufacturing and product engineering, trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity, production cycle timeline, calendar management, fabric performance with a focus on bag construction.
- Effectively communicate in written and verbal form.
- Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks.
- Experienced with Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Web-based applications.
- Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills.
- Strong team orientation and ability to build strong cross functional relationships
- University degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years accessories production/sourcing experience with a focus on bags
