The Marketing Communications Manager is a highly visible position that requires a sharp, innovative and results-oriented individual. It requires a unique combination of creativity and grounded project management. In this position, you will be responsible for managing creative production of all corporate collateral and publications, as well as digital components. You will also be supervising a marketing communications specialist and managing outside resources as necessary to execute long- and short-term marketing projects. You will be the gatekeeper to maintain a consistent brand image and positioning. You will report to the Director of Marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Conceptualize, present and develop innovative and integrated marketing communication programs across all marketing vehicles to support corporate strategy, field operations and marketing promotions and events.

- Conceptualize and manage the production of high-impact corporate and store collateral, advertising and promotion materials in collaboration with all cross-functional parties involved.

- Manage and produce all ORCO publications meeting timelines and budget.

- Develop and present Internet, Extranet and Intranet plans and manage execution of content, design, and new functionality. Ensure continual and timely maintenance in coordination with the entire organization.

- Develop and manage Marketing Communications production schedules. Provide timely status reports and identify critical path items to team. Ensure deadlines and budgets are met.

- Pro-actively manage brand and ensure a consistent corporate image and positioning throughout product lines, promotional materials and events – both external and internal. Maintain, communicate and drive adherence to brand standards.

- Develop and manage the Marketing Communications budget. Ensure accurate marcom billing to other departments.

- Assist in preparation of overall marketing communications strategy and plan.

- Review and approve all company-related visual presentations (private label packaging, advertising, literature, event and trade show graphics, signage, etc.) and support all internal functions and senior management with internal communications (memos, presentations, announcements).

- Develop RFQs, identify and select vendors. Perform regular vendor reviews to ensure satisfactory vendor performance.

- Contract, manage and maintain relationships outside consultants, copywriters, creative agencies, printers and other off-site resources including writers, illustrators, designers and production specialists.

- Develop strong relationships with ORCO operational and sales staff.

- Develop and maintain computer database of product descriptions and images and catalog production software.

- Other duties may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manages employee(s) in the Marketing Communications Department.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications from four-year college or university, and 8 -10 years related experience.
- Experience working in a dynamic and fluid environment with a variety of internal and external customers varying in seniority and marketing knowledge.
- Excellent writing skills, exhibiting mastery of both grammar and English, as well as graphic design skills. Creative, demonstrating self-initiative.
- Effective communicator with proven presentation skills and the ability to communicate up and down in an organization.
- Demonstrated excellence in tactical execution while being able to think strategically.
- Proven ability to be flexible as well as to perform under pressure and in the face of tight deadlines. Extreme attention to detail.
- Results driven and strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to speak and write in Spanish and understanding of the Hispanic culture a plus

- TECHNICAL SKILL / EXPERTISE
Position requires the manager be extremely proficient in both Macintosh and PC platforms and with several graphic and design layout software programs including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, etc. Experience with Adobe FrameMaker is a plus.
