Currently, the Be A Mentor Program has a desperate need for male mentors in the Oakland area. Boys attending Castlemont High School are in desperate need of a mentor, someone that they can talk to, confide in, spend time with, and that can be a trusted friend to them. Help them realize the opportunities out there are not just for others, but also for them.
The time a mentor spends with the youth can be spent focusing on schoolwork, exploring goals for the future, going to movies or other events, or simply talking and listening.
You are only asked to spend 4 to 6 hours per month together. Students and mentors are paired in same gender matches for at least one year. The personal rewards for both the mentor and the mentee are endless.
