MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Job Summary:
Performs maintenance and repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, piping, plumbing, vacuum systems, water boilers, valves, steam generators, air handling equipment and pressure systems, kitchen equipment, automatic control systems, and all other mechanical systems or components. Installs new mechanical systems and equipment; works from diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specification books; and uses hand and power tools, precision measuring, and testing equipment. Performs duties under minimum supervision.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education:
·High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
·5 years maintenance experience, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing tasks.
Preferred Position Qualifications:
·Technical Education in Healthcare Plant Operations preferred.
·3 years experience operating and repairing steam boilers and their auxiliary equipment preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
·Knowledge of safety measures in the use of hand and power tools.
·Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
·Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
·Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
·Ability to suggest innovative and additional ways to conserve energy, and/or recycle products.
·Knowledge of steam boilers and related activities.
·Demonstrates the ability to maintain all equipment in the assigned work area assuring that it is in proper and safe working order.
·Good written and verbal communication skills.
