Description REPORTS TO: Program Directors, Henry Ohlhoff House & Skip Byron Primary Program

SUPERVISES: House Person, Volunteers and Residents doing work credit, and any casual labor

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for all Henry Ohlhoff House, Skip Byron Primary Program and Phoenix House facilities and maintenance/management. Responsible for all building and grounds maintenance. Calls in outside sub-contractors as needed for repairs on electrical, plumbing, carpentry work, etc.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. In charge of maintenance and cleaning of all HOH buildings, including 601 Steiner, 603 Steiner, 625 Steiner, group room building (ground floor), and occasional maintenance/walk-throughs at Phoenix House (Fell St.).

2. Responsible for purchase of all necessary supplies and equipment for building maintenance.

3. Assists Head Cook with all maintenance, health and safety requirements for kitchen and dining area.

4. Responsible for all landscaping and grounds maintenance at San Francisco residential facility.

5. Responsible for fire safety requirements as specified by the local fire marshal.

6. Responsible for supplying all residents with bedding and cleaning same upon residents’ vacating HOH

7. Responsible for attending all staff meetings/trainings as required.

8. Responsible for contracting for specific jobs beyond the scope of regular maintenance, (with the consent of the Program Director/Facilities Manager when cost for such work is expected to exceed $250).

9. Work with Program Assistants regarding preparation for incoming and outgoing clients to insure that all required logistics are covered, including bed space availability, linens, storage of belongings, etc.

10. Responsible for retrieving donated furniture and other items, as needed or requested by the Program Director.

11. As needed, notify Program Director of needs for supplies, furniture, repairs or structural work on property when such needs are beyond the scope of routine ordering or work.

12. Responsible for occasional driving errands, as requested by the Program Director, when supplies are needed, etc.

13. Monitors residents to foster compliance with program’s “Customs & Courtesies,” with regard to appropriate living habits, relevant care of the premises and their living quarters, and other program rules and customs which come into question during building manager’s interaction with residents. This assistance is provided with the support and guidance of the Program Director and other staff.

Requirements:
Must have a car or truck for deliveries and errands (mileage reimbursed)
Previous facilities or maintenance experience recommended
Flexibility needed for miscellaneous requests and odd jobs
Ability to work independently
