I know most people use craiglist as a way to get quick sex and not dating. So this is going to be a bit of a stretch.
I'm a 34, 5'6" 145 lbs Asian guy who's kinda still new to the city. Gay bars and clubs are not my scene. So that makes it a little difficult to meet people. I enjoy drinking as much as the next person (oh heck, maybe more than the next person) but it doesn't need to be in the Castro. I have many interests yet nothing out of the ordinary....travel, wine, eating out, movies, gym, tennis, beach, coffee, ice cream, sleeping in, doing absolutely nothing, etc.
So what sets me apart from anyone else?.... Well, let's see. My life is stable, my job is stable, I love my friends (they are stable), I love my family, I'm appropriate in most social settings and I guess being gay is not something I need to highlight. I'm loyal to my friends and enjoy supporting them in their work and interests. Most of my close friends are far away but I talk or IM with them everyday. My new friends seem to be straight, married couples and some of them even have kids. I like trying new things whether it be going to see a band or attending a cultural event that I know nothing about. And that goes for food too. I doubt you'd find me effeminate but you probably WON'T find me rounding up cattle or fixing a '67 Mustang either.
You've probably seen me at Crunch, Pinnacle or 24 Hour. You might mistake me for one of those buff, gym queens and maybe my headphones might keep you from talking to me. But if you observe me long enough, you'll notice that I'm not cruising the gym. You'll find that I'm very fit but you WON'T find me looking in the mirror in between sets. I don't sneak peeks in the locker room and I don't use communal showers as an excuse to see naked men.
I have found many types of guys attractive. I've dated white, hispanic, asian and black guys. And yes yes I've had sex with them too. Ethnicity aside, I tend to go for guys that are single (very important), not older than 42ish, slim, average or built guys, minimal facial hair, (more) masculine, don't use drugs (not negotiable), don't smoke (negotiable) and most importantly...FUNNY. If I can't make you laugh or if you don't like laughing, then hmmm...maybe we can friends. I've dated some very witty girly-guys too! Humor is hot!. I'd prefer that you live somewhere accessible to public transportation because I don't have a car. Either that, or you LOVE coming into the city.
What else should I write? Let's talk about the rest of it over coffee or wine. Although hypocritical of me not to post my picture, please try to send me a non-fuzzy picture which has your face in it. I will respond with my pictures. A few witty comments in response wouldn't hurt either. Hope your week goes well.
