My name is Ray Davine, and I'm a local magician here in Santa Rosa, and the Sonoma County area. Currently, I have been performing at various venues throughout the county over the last five years, and with my repertoire constantly expanding, would like to have at least one to two female assistants to work with me on my shows and rehearsals. (The number of assistants may increase as time goes by.) A number of the magic acts I perform require the use of assistants, and I am looking to perform nationally and ultimately internationally.
Candidates should be females at least 21-34 years of age, preferably no taller than 5'11", no more than 150 lbs (the weight and height are for technical reasons). Must be creative and capable of working within a team environment. Theatrical experience such as dance, acting, etc. is a plus, but not necessary.
One thing that IS necessary is a STRONG INTEREST, if not a LOVE of magic and illusion.
The position(s) will be a paid one, for rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals will be paid on an hourly basis, while straight fees (for now) will be paid for performances. (NOTE: I do have a day job, since I am just beginning my career in magic, but REST ASSURED I ALWAYS pay whomever I work with. For rehearsals at least, I can pay $12 per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours per rehearsal session...performance fees will be discussed further on an individual basis) Rehearsals at this point would be once a week or every two weeks to start. I wish I was at the stage where I could just employ an assistant(s) full time right from the start, but I'm not there yet...the important word being "yet"! Everything is at a grassroots level, but you have to start somewhere!
NOTE: This offer as my assistant is to be long-term . My goal is to take my show all over, and anyone who works with me, is coming with me!
