You were walking on Chestnut around midnight looking a bit furtive. You spied me over your shoulder and then almost walked into some boarding for a construction zone. I laughed a bit but kept it to myself. You righted yourself and continued on but by then I had caught up with you. I saw what you were hiding and asked what kind. You said cinnamon twist, paused a bit, and then came clean and admitted you had a maple donut hidden in the bag. I said they were good choices, especially the maple donut. I said I preferred chocolate chocolate as well as old-fashion dipped. You smiled and said the old-fashioned dipped is also a favorite.
I wanted to know more and asked if you wanted to have a drink. You said something about a boyfriend and that it was late and that you had to get home. I said something like pshaw, he can't be much of a boyfriend if he leaves such a beautiful quirky but eminently attractive woman out by herself on a rainy Saturday night. I said that everything else could wait. We had sugary baked goods to discuss.
Actually I didn't say that then. I said that later, after I'd let you walk away down a side street to your car. I said it to myself when no one else was around. I did say something to you about CraigsList which is why this is here. You didn't know about it then. Hopefully you do now.
