Laugh at GAS PRICES??? Yes you can!
ELECTRIC POWER ASSISTED PEDAL BIKE $1500
[Please note: This is a local sale only. I will not ship.]
NON-POLLUTING--Uses absolutely no gas.
BRAND NEW, available in silver, red or blue.
NO OPERATING COSTS except 15 cents of electricity per charge. Plugs
into standard 110 volt outlet with included Smart Charger; charges in 2
to 4 hours.
RUNS SILENTLY---hear the tire's rubber on the road!
RANGE ON A SINGLE CHARGE of up to 60 miles per manufacturer's spec
(30 for me, at 200 lbs. and foothill driving; your mileage will vary).
Enough to go from Rockridge to Richmond-Costco/Point Isabella, and back
on a single charge, with remaining juice. I regularly go to El Cerrito
and back to Rockridge with plenty of charge remaining.
Maximum speed up to 20 miles per hour.
LATEST, MOST ADVANCED MODEL AVAILABLE-- (not a toy like you get at
the big box stores): 48 volts, regenerative breaking, comes with 2
battery packs (30% of total weight is in the batteries to give such a
long range), 280 watt brushless no-maintenance hub motor. Tires can be
upgraded for higher performance with lower rolling resistance 100 psi.
Optional Bike computer available for $25 to track odometer, time,
maximum and average speed, etc.
Includes factory rain cover.
Replacement sealed lead acid battery cells are readily available at
local battery stores (they last up to 500 full charge/discharge
cycles).
The best thing is that it qualifies as a 'motorized bicycle' in
Section 406 (b) of the California Vehicle Code and therefore is NOT
REGISTERED OR LICENSED by DMV (the Code says "Motorized Bicycles are
not motor vehicles."). You use it like a bike: park it on the sidewalks
without getting ticketed (I feel sorry for the Berkeley Parking
Taliban) and legally use bike lines. You will be shocked how convenient
it is to pull right up to the front door of any business, get off the
bike and park it on the sidewalk--no time or gas wasted or frustration
trying to park! Just don't park in a way to block pedestrians.
I carry a Cobralink hardened steel chain to lock up the bike for
security. Since it's self powered, it's no problem carrying a 15 lb.
security chain, unlike a regular pedal bike.
I have found it very convenient to do my local errands with the
bike, and I've cut my gas consumption in half because of this. The bike
will pay for itself in 6 to 8 months with the money you save on gas,
and that's excluding the savings by avoiding parking fees and tickets.
I guess for some, avoiding the tickets alone will pay for the bike in
short order.
I have also available for $200, a complete Cargo Trailer capable of
carrying 4 to 6 bags of groceries. It is lockable and water tight. So I
take it as I go from store to store, adding to my purchases in the
storage box. This really makes the bike practical to replace using my
car for local errands (the Cargo Trailer is the equivalent of a trunk).
The Cargo Trailer is very light weight (15 lbs. empty and can hold 100
lbs payload) and does not affect riding performance. In fact, it is so
well constructed it is silent and light weight and maneuverable that I
have to keep looking back there to make sure it hasn't fallen off. The
Cargo Trailer is paintable.
The Cargo Trailer comes with a quick release latch so that it is
very easy to add or take off the bike, depending on your requirements
for a trip.
Let me know if you have questions or would like to arrange a test drive.
