Keep those damned Martians out of my thoughts! - 50

Description OK – I’m sitting here with my aluminum foil hat on to block out alien thoughts so I can craft a nice ad. Gotta keep those darn aliens out – they make me look for the wrong women! Now…where did I put my meds, need those to kick in first so I don’t drool all over the keyboard and get a shock. Not that I can see the screen, what with my naked Britney poster taped to it.

All right now – I got it together, so here we go!

I am not looking for casual dating, need to establish that. Been there done that kind of thing, and it makes sense at a certain time in a person’s life. Recently declined a very nice invitation for exactly that, simply because she and I are at different times in our lives. Her need to stay unattached and loose is great for her right now, but not for me. I am looking for a girlfriend, for a full time and long term relationship. So if that is also your goal – please keep reading (and be patient – this may take a while…).

My idea of a relationship includes seeing the other person every day. Not once a week or a few times a week. I mean we spend our time together, cooking meals, talking, sitting, planning, socializing. You know – a couple! This means I need someone who has similar desires along these lines, and the time to devote, and lives nearby so we do indeed see each other rather than drive all the time. So again, if this is you please keep reading.

I’m a very outgoing guy with a lot of friends and a huge list of interests that just seems to keep growing. I am fascinated with everything! Even things that might otherwise seem mundane, I find interesting enough to want to learn about them. I spend a lot of time socializing. I spend almost every weekend out of town on some trip or adventure. Very active life here! Somewhat of a fast pace, but still plenty of time to rest and enjoy some peace. So if you truly like people, like to experience new things, have a good energy level (but not hyper), have the freedom to run away a lot, please keep reading.

I’m tall. 6’3” in fact, and I do mean in fact rather than a Craigslist ‘fact’. And I am always working on those darn five pounds that want to land on my belly. So far I have been pretty successful and people say I look great and don’t need to worry. But you see – if I don’t keep it in mind then those pounds will land there! So I like to be with someone who is also aware of her appearance and keeps her shape in mind. I’m not a gym rat, don’t do formal exercise. My lifestyle has enough activity in it to keep me looking right. A woman who is taller is best for me, but not an absolute requirement. However what is absolute is not being overweight. So if you care about your appearance and your health – please keep reading.

I have a variety of interests and activities. It is not required that you enjoy all the same. But it is important to find someone with an open mind, and adventurous enough attitude, that she’ll be open to trying things. For example I fly a lot. A woman that says airplanes scare me and I won’t try that…well it wouldn’t work. I’m very involved in wine, and not just in drinking it. So a woman who does not at least drink wine would not work. You don’t have to be a lush! Just be open to learning and enjoying the industry. If this sounds like you please keep reading.
Intelligence is extremely important to me. I really enjoy sharing thoughts and exchanging ideas. Great conversation is a big part of a relationship with me. As they say, eventually you have to get out of bed – and then what? And I’m pretty sharp, and I require a lot of mental stimulation. So I need someone who has a brain, but that does not mean she must have an education. Someone who forms her own ideas and can express them to me, answer intriguing questions and pose her own, bend when the discussion proves her wrong, and gloat just enough when she bests me. If this sounds like you please keep reading.

A stable person is also important. I’m pretty well set in life. Nice house in a nice neighborhood, bills are all paid, never had a ticket, no difficulties, kids have grown to be great people. In other words my life is solid and has no turmoil. I like that! And I made it that way. I don’t allow people into my life who suffer from destructive tendencies or chaos. If you have things nailed down, and are, like me, simply enjoying the benefits of having a sensible life, please keep reading.

As a part of the above I suppose, I should point out that I do not plan on making any more smaller versions of myself. My baby-making years are past. You should know for sure that you too are not going to want more kids. It’s greedy time for me – I want to go play now – and I do. So if you are done with your biological clock pressures, please keep reading.

Opps, darn aluminum hat just fell off for a minute and some alien thoughts intruded. But it’s OK – I got it back on. Hey look, I can see Channel Two in my left eye!

I don’t believe I am anything-obsessive, or as I put it anythingaholic. I do play hard and to excess – occasionally. But as they say all things in moderation including moderation. So I don’t insist that my dog goes everywhere I go. I don’t go visit a horse every night. I don’t need to absolutely attend this lesson or that show every day. I enjoy some things regularly, and welcome new things that change my schedule. If you are not obsessed by any such thing as not being able to leave home without a three pound dog in your purse, please keep reading.

Well, I guess that should do it for now. If you have made it this far – good for you! Now, if you also live in Marin or Petaluma, and have some pictures to share, how about you click on the little email link and get in touch! We have a lot to do with the remaining summer, and then the holidays, and then spring ramps up with activities, and then…
