Hello, my name is Kerry Drew.
I am a professional craftsman, designer, sculptor and bench jeweler with more than 25 years experience in the design, manufacture, repair and sales of: fine jewelry, accessories, bronze, wood and mixed media sculpture, object d'art, tools, machinery and prototypes.
An accomplished metal smith, carver and sculptor, I have successfully completed
many personal and industrial commissions. In addition, I have worked from
innovative CAD-CAM computer databases in building models and prototypes by
such processes as Stereo Lithography and Stereo Laser Sintering.
I have proven ability in making lost-wax centrifugal and vacuum castings of up
to 25 lbs. in gold, sterling & Bronze and have poured bronze to 300 lbs.
I also have some experience with stamping, cutting and forming equipment.
I am a skilled stone setter, lapidarian, metal fabricator, manufacturing
consultant, troubleshooter and quality control person, whose attention to
detail, integrity and high standards are well known. I look forward to working
in an environment, which prizes and rewards those qualities.
As a repairman and restorer, I am adept at refurbishing estate and vintage
jewelry as well as doing tricky repairs on costume, folk jewelry, antiques
and statuary that many experts will not attempt.
Sales and customer service is work I'm extremely good at, from assisting
wholesale customers through technical sales support, to doing retail jewelry
sales and service at the counter, over the telephone and also working privately
with clients to create special products, gifts or inventions.
I have proven talents at removing obstacles to smooth business flow, thereby ensuring
customer satisfaction, while maximizing profits.
My broad knowledge of design, materials, techniques and project management
has contributed to effective cost estimation and more profitable pricing.
Highly effective at training and supervising teams of workers, implementing and
documenting safety programs in the workplace, doing or supervising equipment
maintenance and repair, I am currently seeking a hands-on managerial,
supervisory or consulting position in sales or manufacturing which will
take advantage of the broad range of my experience, technical abilities and
people skills.
I have lived most of my life in the Bay Area, do volunteer bike
safety instruction in local schools with the East Bay Bicycle Coalition, have a
deep interest in world culture and languages and speak a smattering of: Spanish,
German, French, Chinese and Japanese. In addition, I collect and sometimes
refurbish ancient antiquities and jewelry, such as Greek, Roman, and Byzantine,
rings, pins, talismans, etc..
Currently, I am seeking a position, which pays up to $35 dollars per
hour, but ALL reasonable job offers will be considered, depending on hours,
location, benefits and so forth.
