Scope: iOffer is an online marketplace positioned silimarly to eBay.

  • Developed an online price comparison search engine (www.iofferbook.com) addressing over 30 million records utilizing Lucene technology. The portal encompassed books, video games and movies. The intensive searching tasks were distributed by using RMI over multiple servers to speed up searching.
  • Responsible for analysis, coordination, design and implementation to include the front-end.

Scope: GPlay is an online video game rental service providing unlimited game rentals to customers for a monthly subscription fee (Similarly to NetFlix).

  • Responsible for most aspects of the latest J2EE-based website iteration covering site navigation, browsing, search, product statistics and integration of overall look-and-feel. Touched upon all tiers.
  • Implemented an RMI-backed, database-driven Source Control Management system to provide course-grained control by allowing source files to be grouped logically by feature. The goal of this was to reduce the time for code reviews and staging and to simplify the revisioning process.
  • Designed and implemented a search interface using dynamically created JDBC queries to allow service staff to quickly gather customer and inventory information.
  • Rewrote Struts taglibs to introduce encryption switching between secure and non-secure pages pages on the Servlet level.
  • Wrote a Velocity-driven utility to generate integration objects using a simple database table schema significantly cutting development time.

Scope: Worked as a Java/J2EE/Struts developer to implement a Sales Agent System to allow outside individuals to become Yipes sales agents. The system integrated and automated the existing systems (Siebel, Concord, Oracle, Infranet, Remedy) by using web services, to reduce manual processes by an estimated 90 percent.

  • Responsible for the Referral Agents subsystem, which covers the web application as well as the business and persistence layers.
