This is a very hands-on position! The role will focus on the on-going development and management of MobiTV’s IT servers and network. Reporting to the Director of IT, the person in this role will be responsible for the overall growth and availability of the worldwide IT systems and the development of a growing team of IT professionals focused on upgrading and managing the company’s IT infrastructure. The current IT team is very small and this IT Manager will spend the majority of time personally involved on technical areas outlined below.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for evaluating, deploying and maintaining state of the art, cost effective IT systems including Microsoft Windows 2003 servers, Red Hat Linux ES and Cisco networking equipment.
• Work closely with the Director of IT to develop IT infrastructure growth plans that are in line with overall business and technical objectives.
• Responsible for managing IT desktop support staff and resources to effectively serve internal and external users.
• Work in concert with IT staff to provide highest quality of service to internal and external customers (will require some level of Tier 1 support)
• Provide leadership to team regarding best practices and serve as mentor to develop the team.
• Develop and enforce IT policies for security, backup and disaster recovery of all internal systems.
• Define and maintain hardware, software and procedures for overall computing environments. (Network, telephony, desktop and server support)
Qualifications:
• At least two years experience in managing a team of IT professionals.
• At least eight years of experience with Windows servers and desktop support including Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange 2003, and Group Policies. Microsoft Operations Manager experience a plus!
• At least six years of Microsoft Exchange server administration experience.
• At least seven years of experience with Linux systems and four years of Linux system administration.
• Experience with Cisco VOIP telephony systems a plus!
• MCSE or CCNA certification a plus!
• Experience with Cisco networking, VLANS, and enterprise level backup systems (Veritas, Legato).
• Expert level of skill and familiarity with network security. Netscreen firewall experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher is desired.
