Do you have a check engine (CEL) on in your car & want to know the diagnostic code? I have a code reader/scanner that I can use to pull the codes from your car to help you diagnose the problem. I am offering no repair services, just code reading. This is the service that a lot of car dealerships charge $100+. I can usually reset your check engine light (turn it off, but it may not stay off if there is a real problem with your car); give you the emissions 'readiness' reading from your car's computer (if your car is capable of storing that information) or pull the 'freeze frame' data if any is stored.

This is also may be helpful if you are looking to buy a car & want to know if there are any fault codes stored on that car's computer.

Please Note: – I am not offering repair service, I am only offering a service to scan you car's computer to pull the fault codes off of it so that you can use them to repair your own car. If you just got back from a smog test & your car failed, turning off the CEL will not make the problem go away, but the fault codes stored may help you determine what is the problem. Also, if you are a Honda owner, you can turn the 'Maintenance Required' light off yourself & I can not turn off a 'SRS' light (both are lights that you can turn-off, just search the internet).

GM '82 - Current Year: – (12 & 16 pin ALDL and OBD-II) (Chevrolet, Saturn, GMC, Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick, etc.)

Ford '83 - Current Year: – (EEC IV and OBD-II) (Lincoln, Mercury, etc.)

Chrysler '83 - Current Year: – (SCI and OBD-II) (Dodge, Plymouth etc.)

Jeep '91 - Current Year: – (SCI and OBD-II)

Toyota '96 - Current Year: – (OBD-II) (Lexus)

Honda '96 - Current Year: – (OBD-II) (Acura)

NISSAN '96 - Current Year: – (OBD-II) (Infiniti)

All other Asian and European '96 - Current Year: – (OBD-II) - (ie. Audi, BMW, VW, Mazda, Volvo, etc)

Price

I charge $20 in cash. If the reader can not get a proper reading from your car, then I will refund your money. I will give you a computer printout of the information stored if possible. You need to drive to me to have this done & the whole process takes about 20 minutes.
