1-1 PURPOSE
This job description defines the basic job duties, physical requirements, performance metrics and qualifications for the position of Inventory Supervisor at San Benito Foods.

Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing and hauling of WIP goods from the processing plant to the label line. Responsible for brite, fiber, labels, pallet inventory and supporting activities by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
§ Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
§ Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area. Receives and ensures proper documentation is retained.
§ Interprets specifications, drawings, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
§ Develops warehouse storage plan and adjusts as needs change.
§ Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of machines and materials according to work orders.
§ Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
§ Inspects and measures loads and products to verify conformance to specifications.
§ Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products, which fail to meet standards.
§ Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
§ Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
§ Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department.
§ Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
§ Maintains time and production records.
§ Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
§ Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
§ Reviews manufactured goods for quality and compliance to specifications.
§ Monitors standards of performance and trains employees in safety, job performance, quality and productivity.
§ Performs cycle counts to establish and maintain accurate inventory.
§ Develops and maintains procedure for handling of product defects incurred in storage. Responsible for transfer to hold areas and reintroduction into brite inventory upon qc release.
§ Responsible for the production of case printing and label supply to the label line.
§ Develops and maintains pallet sorting/maintenance program.

Qualifications:

§ Supervisory Responsibilities - Directly supervises 10-20 employees in the Receiving, Hauling and Inventory Area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 1- 4 STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Performance associated with this position are measured by the following NJFC, SBF and Quality business metrics and plant goals:
§ Pack Plan Completion – Goal of 100% of published pack plan produced to standard. Measurement taken from June final pack plan and measured against final produced. Producing over, under and faulty manufacture are subtractions from 100% goal. Measurement taken on December final and estimated for following year.
§ Schedule Competition, (Service to Sales) – Goal of 100% of planned shipments, on time as ordered. No missed delivery due to quality holds, improper shipments or faulty manufacture.
§ Audit Scores – Superior rating or better for AIB, NFPA, FDA.
§ Foreign Material Reduction – Establishment of measurement for organic and zero tolerance for non-organic foreign material.
§ Consumer Complaints – Establishment of measurement and reduction over prior year.
§ Faulty Manufacture – Establishment of measurement and reduction to less than .5% of cases produced. Plant controllable manufacturing defects.
§ Material Variance - Produce finished goods within material variance goals
§ Direct Labor – Cases produced per labor/hour and Cost per case produced. (Pack Processing and Warehouse combined.)
§ Fixed Budgets – Warehouse budgets developed and in control. Maintain expenses within operating budgets
§ Safety - Establishment of measurement and reduction over prior year. Injuries per 10,000 man-hours.
§ Human Resources Management - Measurement of staff performance improvement, filling of open positions and ability to influence/improve peer relationships.
§ ERP System Implementation and Improvement - Dedication to further integration of computer and ERP systems into the daily operations.
§ Project Management – Projects in support of the above accountabilities as assigned by the Plant Manager.
