TransFair USA, a pioneering international non-profit is seeking a Global Producer Services Intern. Help us make a difference for farmers and farm workers around the world. Fair Trade is an exciting alternative to “business as usual” that guarantees fair prices and better working conditions for producers of coffee, tea, chocolate and fresh fruit in the Global South. TransFair USA provides the only certification for Fair Trade products in the US. We partner with hundreds of thousands coffee farming families around the world and around 500 coffee, tea, chocolate and fresh fruit purveyors in the US. We invite enthusiastic qualified individuals to join our dynamic team.
Overview of Position: This internship is for those with a strong interest in international relations, development studies or marketing. The intern for this position will help to provide the direct links between small coffee farmers in the Global South, and the Fair Trade markets in the U.S. that TransFair is building to help sell their products. This intern will assist in the elaboration of an U.S. market guide for the use of small-scale coffee growers.
Specific duties include:
• Researching information relevant to elaboration of the market guide
• Coordinating review of the guide
• Assisting with the writing of the guide in Spanish
• Translating final product into English
QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent written/spoken English and Spanish communication skills are required.
