Interior Design Assistant
High-end Interior Design firm based in San Francisco seeks part-time interior design assistant.
We are a small firm with numerous clients in a nice office (in principal designers apartment) and we plan on remaining small to offer clients extraordinary attention to detail and client service.
We primarily work in more of a traditional style with projects filled with antiques and fine fabrics.
We are currently seeking someone to be our interior design assistant. This person ideally would be able to work 3-5 days per week on a part time basis. We are flexible with working out times, days and hours with the perfect candidate. Approximately 25 hours per week. It would be more helpful to have someone on a daily basis for shorter amount of time vs. someone who worked just a few days a week for longer days.
Responsibilities include:
• Answering phones (taking messages) client and vendor communication by phone/email/fax
• Errands (car would be nice…but not really needed)
• Creating purchase orders, invoice and follow through on orders
(working closely with bookkeeper and accountant)
• Basic computer programs: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
• Maintains sample library (Fabrics, paints, etc.)
• Project management
We are not necessarily looking for someone with experience in the interior design world. The position is not creative and will not be or become a creative position in the firm. You don’t need to know how to draw, sketch use AutoCad. The role of this job is primarily to assist the senior designer, junior designer, intern with running the business in a smooth manner.
We are a fun bunch to work with. We like to laugh and keep things light, but at the same time have high expectations and work standards. We are looking for someone mature, sharp, proactive, enthusiastic, polite, can work independently, strong verbal and written skills and is highly organized.
Potential applicants must love dogs (two dogs work in our office). Not that you will need to walk them or feed them. Just so that you like and respect them and are not allergic. (Don’t worry…we are not talking great danes or pit bulls. Very nice older dogs).
Please email resume (as attachment) and cover letter/pay expectations (we are offering 10-15 per hour DOE) and contact information in body of email. In your email, please explain why this posting sounds interesting to you and why YOU are the one that we should hire for the job. Due to large responses that craigslist postings receive, we will only be contacting applicants to set up interviews. If you are not contacted, we wish you the best of luck in your job search.
We look forward to hearing from you!
