Join the team at Current! Headquartered in San Francisco, Current is a new independent TV network created by former Vice President Al Gore and entrepreneur Joel Hyatt. We are the first national network created by, for and with an 18-34 year-old audience. Our unique programming shows young adults whats going on in their world, in their voice and from their perspective. With a substantial portion of the networks content provided by the audience, were the first network in history whose programming is supplied and selected in part by the very audience who watches it. Current launched in August 2005 into nearly 20 million homes.
Successful Interactive Producer candidates will have a comprehensive knowledge of web development practices and excellent graphic design capabilities. We're interested in people who understand how to design for simplicity, scalability, accessibility, usability and who emphasize function over whiz-bang technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conceives and develops user pathways and structural wire frames during the information architecture and content development phases
Creates interface designs that accommodate deep hierarchical information architecture and multiple audiences
Drives usable interactive designs from conceptualization through development to ensure successful implementation
Creates usability guidelines
Accountable for production goals and timelines
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
The successful candidate must have 3+ years of experience in front-end web design and programming.
Other requirements include:
Expert knowledge of JSP, Flash, ActionScript, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
Experience with Dreamweaver, Photoshop (or Fireworks)
Experience with version control systems such as SVN
Strong understanding of XML and web services applications
Experience with SQL, Perl, PHP and a good understanding of relational databases
Experience designing and coding data-driven Flash applications that house web-delivered video
Experience in interaction design and usability
Experience with interactive community applications such as blogging, vlogging, wikis, message boards, polling, IM, etc.
Thorough knowledge of web technologies and their applications; solid knowledge of the web development process
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with business and project leaders to meet project goals
Ability to think strategically and recommend technical strategies and tactics; strong analytical skills
