Job Description:Information Systems (IS) Manager and Network Administrator to support and maintain the Golden State Lumber company computer network and systems, supervise a distributed IS staff, and manage multiple projects. The job requires excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to work with, teach and support non-technical users, problem solving skills, and the ability to manage and control multiple projects with fluid, changing timelines. Responsibilities include: project management, IS staff management, bug tracking, and support and maintenance of local and remote, modern and legacy servers and workstations in both office and industrial environments. The position includes medical and dental coverage after the requisite waiting period is completed, plus the opportunity for further education and training. Base of IS operations is currently in American Canyon, CA but will move to Petaluma, CA in late 2006. Travel between company locations will be required as needed to maintain team cohesion and meet project goals. The IS Manager position will report directly to the company VP/CTO.
Qualifications: At least 5 years IS staff and project management experience along with broad system & network administration in heterogeneous Linux and Microsoft operating environments across local and wide area networks. Working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems and overall network hardware infrastructure, good verbal and written communication skills, proficient use of Microsoft Project to track multiple projects simultaneously, and strong management skills are required. Experience supporting equipment in industrial environments, the setup, maintenance and use of exchange email, web clients and applications, active directory structure, and terminal server applications and hardware, Microsoft SQL and Informix databases, and the ability to distil data using Crystal Reports is recommended. The ideal candidate would have certifications in the aforementioned areas and posess a college degree. A good balance between technical expertise and excellent customer service and management skills is important in this role. You should also be able to manage user expectations, occasionally work off-hours to make changes to the infrastructure, and support a wide variety of skill levels and personalities.
