Industry Marketing Manager, Pharmaceutical - New York or Mountain View




Position based in New York, NY or Mountain View, CA.

Google is looking for a flexible, experienced, and hardworking person to develop our AdWords marketing strategy in support of Google's North American sales and operations efforts in the pharmaceutical industry.

You understand inside and out the marketing needs of major companies in the pharmaceutical industry and the advertising agencies that serve them. In this role, you will help develop Google’s point of view on the evolution of advertising for this sector and Google’s role in making pharmaceutical marketing more effective.

If you enjoy staying at the bleeding edge of an industry, crafting eloquent arguments with data, and working with members of a sales team, you will find this role highly rewarding and exciting.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead creation of thought leadership materials, client presentations, executive presentations, white papers, contributed articles, etc.
  • Design and execute a strategic marketing plan to support the sale of Google's advertiser products to major corporations and agencies.
  • Work closely with Google product and corporate Marketing teams, Vertical Markets group, and the Sales organization.
  • Develop compelling positioning and messaging for Google's advertising solutions targeted to pharmaceutical audiences.
  • Develop in-depth case studies, which showcase Google's advertising solutions.
  • Serve as liaison between Google's Product Management team and the Direct Sales organization.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree and MBA required, plus minimum of 8 years experience.
  • Ideal candidate has experience in management consulting, market research focused on pharmaceuticals, or in a strategic role at a pharmaceutical company with strong customer-facing, consultative domain expertise.
  • Strong analytical skills and passion for analyzing products, companies and market dynamics.
  • Strong aptitude for determining the optimal way to position products in the market, in an organization and along a buy cycle.
  • Demonstrated capacity for developing marketing strategies in a B2B environment and in a client-facing environment.
  • Expertise supporting and enabling a direct sales organization is preferred.
  • Excellent and creative written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of the search and online advertising market.
  • Understanding of Google's strategic and competitive position.
  • Willingness to travel to meetings and between Mountain View and New York (10%).
