WOW! Notice the woodwork - very impressive! It is this kind of original but unusual detail that really impresses guests and serves as point of conversation.
One of the nice aspects of Eastlake is that it works with virtually every type of decor. "Eastlake" is for Englishman Charles Eastlake (1836-1906) who influenced American design during the Victorian era. He didn't make furniture but inspired those who did. His style focused on the use of geometric shapes emphasizing "simple, elegant motifs" rather than the more decorative Victorian style.
The clock is a very good example of Eastlake. Be sure to notice the extra special detailing on the sides of it. The clock measures about 9 and 1/2" wide and 18" high. It definitely glows with old world charm and I bet your most difficult chore will be deciding where you want to place it in your home.
No chips are apparent but upon inspection there appears slight old irregularity/repair on the front top trim. It could be easily removed in entirety if it bothers you without any loss to the impressiveness of the clock.
I am selling "as-is." Please expect that any old item, including this one, will have wear. Minor scratches and wear are expected and many people agree add to the character of a piece like this. Antiques often needed service during their lifetimes to remain functional so although I endeavor to point out damage there may be repairs I am not aware of. I try to be very conscientious of pointing out anything significant.
It would be best if you pick this up; appropriate packing will be too expensive.
