Description My name is Ricky Borba, and I'm looking for a career. I love working with people and I love working in entertainment. I've been installing phones and doing tech work the past few years, but I want to wake up happy in the morning to go to work. My resume is full of various skills, but my best quality is being a people person.

Hosted weekly television show “Gamer Nation”, which gave viewers reviews, previews, and a look inside the video game industry. I was the only male host.
I’ve had multiple acting classes and had principal roles in four independent films. I’ve interned at KICU Channel 36 on the “High School Sports Focus” weekly show, as a production assistant. I’ve interned at KTVU Channel 2, in the sports department as a production assistant, and copy writer.

• Installed business phone systems such as: Norstar ICS, Norstar Voicemail, Panasonic DBS, Panasonic KXT, Panasonic Voicemail, Avaya, Lucent Merlin Magic, Lucent Legend, Lucent Partner, Toshiba Strata System. Installed PC Networks, and User Stations
• Trained customers on use of phone system and voicemail, including telephone features, basic and advanced programming, and maintenance.
• Ran and constructed cabling for new business telephone systems.
• Designed website for www.loyaltycom.com and www.visiongates.com
• Provided on-site and telephone and PC support for customers.


March 2000 – September 2000 Sentex Systems
Help Desk Technician/ Customer Support Lead

• Responsible for taking high call volumes for technical support, up to 50 calls a day. Learned Sentex product line in one month, was taking technical support phone calls after one month of training. (Sentex product line includes telephone entry systems and gate operators)
• Tested internal boards, circuitry, wiring, and voltage to determine the problem of a particular system. Used that knowledge to troubleshoot with customers via telephone.
• Learned to read schematics and wiring diagrams in efforts to apply that to troubleshooting with customers.
• After two months was promoted to technician supervisor.


December 1998 – January 2000 KFAX/KJOY Radio
Computer Technician/Network Administrator/Electronics Support/On-Air Personality

• Responsible for upgrades and maintenance of all computers in office, including hardware upgrades such as modems, network cards, hard drives, CD-ROM drives and various other devices.
• Supervised maintenance and upgrades for the office Ethernet network, allowing all computer users in office to share files and thereby speed up business productivity.
• Constructed cabling for network.
• Installed DSL modem and ISP for network, which resulted in office’s increase of speed on the internet by as much as 30 times faster.
• Troubleshot day to day problems with operation of PC computers, such as error messages and devices not working properly.
• Worked as weekend DJ for KFAX and KJOY radio
