| i read a post some time back talking about self proclaimed engineers and software operators. You're not a mixing or mastering engineer until you've had your work signed off by major labels or publishers more than one time. I totally agree with that. Since it's their game, they make the determination who is what. The great quality, best deal, next level, professional, major label sound BS is just that; BS. Stop promising things you really can't deliver. It's not fair to the ones who are doing it. You successful engineers shouldn't be allowing these computer hacks to get away with this. Educate us about what to look for so we don't time and waste money!
