Certified in Human Resources Management/Training through Hayward State University. Expertise includes, but is not limited to a wide variety of Human Resource functions: employment law, employee relations, recruitment, training, safety, HRIS (ADP), workers compensation, and administrative support. Human Resources Generalist
Report directly to the Human Resources Manager. Work with minimal supervision, exercise initiative and pursue solutions proactively. In conjunction with administrative and employee support duties include the following:
Personnel Policy Administration
ľ Expertise in policies/procedures, SIIPP (Safety, Injury, Illness, Prevention, Program), workers compensation rights, and employment law.
ľ Provide administrative support as needed through the Human Resources Manager, such as special projects.
ľ Administer New Employee Orientation to ensure proper on-boarding of new employees. This consist of: completing proper paperwork, introduction of handbook/SIIPP (Safety, Injury, Illness, Prevention, Program), presenting Preventing Sexual Harassment/Diversity training, and ISO(Quality Management Standards) training.
ľ Maintain I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification for employee population.
ľ Responsible for administration of Workers Compensation claims and maintenance in accordance to OSHA compliance. Work directly with Workers Compensation insurance carrier and medical providers. Provide assistance to employees and managers through proper Workers Compensation procedures. Oversee Loss Analysis report provided through insurance carrier.
ľ Ability to maintain Human Resources in the absence of the Human Resources Manager.
ľ Add Costing.
Recruitment
ľ Prepare and administer recruitment plan for staffing positions. Includes reviewing position description, identifying sourcing strategies, examining resumes/applications, screening candidates, designing interview questions, and participating on oral panels.
ľ Recruitment responsibilities also include: working closely with employment agencies, maintaining job postings, arranging interview processes, conduct reference checks, compiling proper paper work and tendering formal job offers.
ľ Conduct interviews and participated in oral panels for Human Resource positions.
Employee Relations
ľ Administer disciplinary actions and terminations of employees. Duties include: offering suggestions/opinions to HR manager, observation and follow-up on situations, conducting investigations, and assuring that the proper documentation is compiled.
ƒæ Properly manage and document employee relations issues in accordance to OSI¡¦s Policies/Procedures and the law.
Safety & Training
ƒæ Implement Employee Safety Training Program consisting of a series of workshops focused on, but not limited to: Proper Ergonomics, Stress Management, Back Care, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and Total Safety Culture. Also, researched the most cost effective method of training through State Fund provided video¡¦ s and pamphlets free of charge.
ľ Initiated Emergency Response Team contributing a first response team in the case of an emergency on-site. Requiring that all members become CPR, first response, and fire extinguisher trained. Manage meetings with the team to discuss duties and provide training through presentation/videos/pamphlets.
ƒæ Serve as a key member of OSI¡¦s Safety Committee assisting with agenda preparation, researching critical issues affecting workplace safety, delivering reports to Committee about issues researched, and reporting out progress and results to the executive staff.
ľ Provide support and offer suggestions daily to the overall safety of the company.
ľ Communicate to employee population available training programs aside from what is available on-site.
