I am looking for a family if San Francisco or the East Bay to host Markus. He is 15 1/2years old and lives in Vienna with his opthamologist father, hospital manager mother, 13-year-old brother, and 2 rabbits. His interests include playing golf and soccer, skiing (started at 3 years old), windsurfing, playing computer games, listening to music (including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Green Day & Nirvana), and watching TV (including The OC & Malcom in the Middle). He has won awards in skiing and golf.
Markus is one of 30 students from the same Catholic high school in Vienna coming with adult chaperones April 4-17. From 9 am - 6 pm weekdays, the students have a full schedule of classes, group activities and sight seeing trips in which host family members may participate. Host families learn about European culture and practice German language skills while sharing US culture and speaking English to their student. The students bring their own spending money for personal expenses and are fully insured allowing them to participate in the daily lives of their host families at minimal expense to the latter.
