Organization Background: Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin, Inc. (Goodwill) is a not-for-profit social enterprise that provides job training, vocational counseling and employment services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. In 2004, Goodwill provided workforce development programs and services to over 1500 people who have a disability or who faced other employment barriers such as homelessness, long-term welfare dependency, histories of incarceration or substance abuse, and language barriers. Goodwill's workforce development programs are funded through the sale of donated goods in the Agency's 17 thrift stores and boutiques, through private and government grants, and through the generous financial support of our individual donors. The fact that over 90% of the Agency's revenue is earned gives Goodwill maximum flexibility in designing, managing and partnering its workforce programs. The Agency is fully committed to a truly integrated program for the delivery of resources and programs, so that its revenue generating activities also generate jobs and job training opportunities.
Homeless Services: Goodwill's homeless services programs are dedicated to making employment services accessible to homeless and formerly homeless persons. Goodwill participates in two federally funded programs ' The San Francisco Homeless Employment Collaborative (HEC) and The San Francisco Training Partnership (SFTP). HEC provides occupational classroom training, transitional employment, job placement and supportive services to homeless adults at Goodwill. SFTP is a collaborative between Goodwill, Swords to Plowshares and Northern California Service League targeting homeless veterans and ex-offenders. Goodwill is the lead fiscal agent and the collaborative offers customized short-term training, life skills workshops, paid transitional employment, permanent job placement, and intensive supportive services to up to 55 individuals per year.
General Position Overview: Goodwill is seeking an experienced and creative individual to coordinate day-to-day support functions for strategic partnerships aimed at connecting homeless individuals and families to housing, training and other support services. The Homeless Services Program Coordinator ('Coordinator') will be responsible for the overall coordination of SFTP and HEC as well as meeting their program and fiscal reporting and accountability requirements.
Description of Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Community & Business Services, the Coordinator is responsible for the following:
Acts as Goodwill's liaison to contact persons from collaborative agencies
Coordinates outreach and information and referral activities
Supervises two Community & Business Services staff assigned to support homeless services activities
Invoices for services provided under Homeless Employment Collaborative (HEC) and San Francisco Training Partnership (SFTP)
Prepares summary and statistical reports required by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development
Maintains data system for tracking and reporting participant progress and outcomes
Prepares correspondence, contracts and budgets
Troubleshoots and provides technical support (including the preparation of contracts for tuition brokerage) to Swords-to-Plowshares and Northern California Service League
Monitors case file documentation in accordance with Goodwill and CARF standards, and grant policies
Attends meetings of the Local Homeless Coordinating Board, HEC Steering Committee, SFTP Steering Committee and other meetings relevant to the delivery and coordination of homeless services.
Maintains ongoing understanding of policies that influence the homeless service delivery system (i.e. HUD/McKinney Act, Workforce Investment Act, etc.)

Requirements:
Qualifications: Primary qualifications for the Coordinator include:
Two years of experience working with homeless persons preferably in a HUD/McKinney funded setting
Experience monitoring contracts or subcontracts
Computer literacy
Ability to maintain accurate project accounting and client tracking systems
Effective written and oral communication skills
A commitment to a team approach
An ability to work cooperatively with subcontractors, contract monitors, funders, and Goodwill staff
The Coordinator must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented. BA degree in human service-related field is desirable.
