PERSONAL STATEMENT
I began babysitting at the age of 12. I have always been able to interact well with children of all ages; infants to teenagers. My brother is 10 years younger than myself, so I gained my childcare guidance in my own home and with my own sibling. Children seem to be drawn towards me no matter what environment I find myself positioned in.
I am an outgoing individual who enjoyed school. I received high honors two semesters in college while working 20 to 60 hours per week. My experience working with the general public included duties as a front desk receptionist at a hair salon chain store. In addition, I worked at the front desk of a major hotel where I became an orientation trainer for new hires and was eventually promoted to the concierge desk. I also worked in a fast-paced retail food service store where serving the public resulted in many challenges including the need to provide customer service "with a smile" under all circumstances.
I enjoy singing and have performed at public functions. This talent gives me great joy and has helped me develop my self-esteem and character. I understand the importance of encouraging and guiding children in any talent a child possesses. And in some instances, I have been able to recognize children's talents that parents have yet to identify.
Security issues related to child care is always a primary concern of mine. In addition, security issues related to pets and property are also included in my awareness in any environment. Thus, I welcome any background check that one may deem necessary.
