REFURBISHED
Refurbished by Hewlett Packard! Thousands of these new units come back to Hewlett Packard un-used and get resold as refurbished unit because by law they can't sell it to the public as New. All my refurbished units are open stock, or overstock returns. Used units dont get refurbished..they are repaired and returned to their original customers. Some of the items colors and style may be different then picture.
Refurbished typically means that the customer returned the item for reasons other than being defective, a customer may have changed his or her mind, did not like the product, or had difficulty operating it. Whether it is returned a month later or the very next day, such an item must be identified as reconditioned or refurbished to be resold to the public.
Every product targeted for reconditioning must pass a thorough examination. After undergoing repairs, the product is repackaged either by the original manufacturer or a reputable professional restoration firm. After the reconditioning process the product has a like-new or almost new condition.
Often, the only ways to distinguish a refurbished product from a new product are blacked-out serial numbers, removal of the UPC code. As for packaging. Some non-basic components, cables, manuals, accessories may be missing. Please see item description for package contents.
