Purebred Productions is currently seeking the following positions:
Post-Production Supervisor, Grant Writer, and Fact Researcher
“They Turned Our Desert into Fire” is a documentary focusing on the slow genocide taking place in the Darfur region of Sudan. The film was Directed by Mark Brecke, an accomplished war photographer who has documented the results of war around the world in the Balkins, Cambodia, Vietnam and Rwanda. His photography can be viewed at http://www.warandweddings.com/
“They Turned Our Desert into Fire” is currently in post-production with Jason Mitchell as the Editor. The rough cut was pre-screened by the Sundance Film Festival committee with favorable review and they will be expecting the final film's submission for 2007.
Mitchell and Brecke worked together on the film “War as a Second Language” (2002). That film combined footage shot from the late 90s with samples from the National Archives audio from during the height of the war (including President Johnson and Defense Secretary McNamara). It illustrates the disparity between the government’s objectives and the reality of the landscape and it’s people 40 years later.
