Summary:
The Graphic Designer, using computer graphic programs, creates art and illustrations to be used in our media related material. This position also coordinates the production process and trafficking of all art work and projects form conception to completion.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
• Serves as liaison between art department, outside vendors (printers, art and graphic suppliers,) and internal departments (PR, Marketing, Operations) to coordinate efficient and timely processing of all art related projects.
• Meets with creative staff and PR Dept to develop production schedules for current and planned projects that meet company deadlines. Is directly responsible to Graphics Dept.
• Prepare electronic files for camera-ready output for required medias.
• Prepare job estimates and help maintain vendor files
• Logs jobs and trafficking activity on production schedule and maintains job files of project materials.
• Routes materials in various stages for approval by appropriate department.
• Assist with photo and film shoots, and upholds prepress and press schedules.
• Proofreads and traffics ad copy and blue lines and assists in checking materials in other media for accuracy. Verifies corrections as needed.
• Monitor job progress and directs production scheduling to meet project deadlines.
• Sourcing out new print companies that are cost effective
• Resolves discrepancies in job progression to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Prepares material according to specifications, distributes to appropriate media vehicles before established deadline and tracks progress.
• Any and all other job related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
o Working knowledge with Quark, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Netscape Navigator, and Print Scanners
o Ability to learn technical and production aspects of art projects
o 3-5 Years experience working as a graphic designer
o Passion for cosmetics
o Fluent speaking and writing English
