GOT MOVE? NEED PACK?

Description Are you moving this month? Start now. Most people don't know how much they have to pack until it is too late, and they are staring at paralyzing piles of "stuff" without a clue as to how to proceed.

The worst part about moving is the packing. It is laborious, stressful, and just makes you crazy.

Take the stress out of moving. I packed for other Craigslist service providers for several months; I like what I do. I’m conscientious, professional, reliable, and I love seeing the productivity at the end of the day, when boxes are piled ready for the mover (I DO NOT MOVE YOU).

You buy the supplies (boxes, tape, packing paper, bubble wrap), and I will be your extra hands. I’m cheaper than most, because I’m not being hired by someone else’s company for you. Deal with me directly.

Previously a high-tech worker, I have packed (and unpacked) for record producers, artists, writers, self-employed small business owners, attorneys, families with children overwhelmed by clutter, and those who just need that extra help to get the job on track. I know the value of clear, clean, and organized packing. Get help from someone who wants to make the task “doable” for you. Three small packing tips that will help you maintain safe contents when you reach your destination: always pack dishes vertically in the box, so weight on the box won't break the dishes; always mark your fragile boxes with neon orange, red, or other noticable labels, so movers know not to stack book boxes on top of your fragile ones. If your movers can't read English, they at least will be able to recognize which boxes are which. A third tip, always try and pack heavy contents in smaller boxes so that your movers are not overwhelmed by the weight of the box. Heavier contents in smaller boxes are easier to move. Collect "free boxes" from other CL listers. Save newspapers for stuffing into corners of "breakable boxes". You can never have too many newspapers for a large move. Don't underestimate the time it takes to pack. It will always take longer than you had anticipated if you are doing it by yourself.

Take advantage of this wet rainy season, and put your energy into planning for the move. I will also help you organize the space you are currently in to make it more accessible. Please read my other postings under “ORGANIZING/ORGANIZE” as keywords.

"I couldn't have done it without you. I thought I had it under control but didn't, and you rescued me. Each day a new lesson in how to move without pulling my hair out. An angel. Thank you!" - J.C. Yoga practitioner
