1. Work with the platform/tools designer and GIS analyst to understand and articulate functional requirements for geographical data importation, transformation and rendering.
2. Lead the architecture and development of the GIS tools solution.
3. Lead the integration of the GIS services solution with the tools framework and the content management system.
4. Write tons of great code that serves as the core of our GIS solution

1. In-depth knowledge of cartographic principles, GIS standards, and coordinate systems.
2. Highly skilled at GIS-related algorithm development.
3. An intimate understanding and skill in working with SEDRIS and/or OpenFlight data.
4. Highly skilled in Java development. Direct experience in the following technologies and environments: Hibernate, JSP, Struts, Spring, Tapestry, SOAP/XML, Tomcat, JUnit, Log4j, MySQL, Linux, Windows 2003 Server. Eclipse extension or plug-in development, AJAX and C++ experience a plus.
5. Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) design and development a plus.
6. Must be well versed and experienced in a test-driven development environment
7. Experience with commercial and open source geospatial manipulation systems

1. BS/MS Software Engineering, Computer Science, Geophysics or equivalent.
2. At least 5 years experience as a software architect or team lead.
3. At least 5 years experience developing multi-layered geospatial manipulation and database software.
4. Strong work ethic; extremely organized and detail-oriented.
