Description Meyer Corporation U.S., a leading kitchenware distributor, is seeking a qualified candidate to work in their Vallejo office as the General Accounting Manager.

Position: General Accounting Manager

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Assistant Controller

Status: Exempt


Job Summary: Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts and financial statements.

Essential Job Duties:

• Reconcile high level financial and divisional statements on a monthly basis.
• Check financial statements to ensure ompliance with bank covenants.
• Monitor company lines of credit
• Reconcile check runs for Accounts Payable on a monthly basis.
• Reconcile corporate taxes and make EFT payments as required.
• Make elimination and tax provision entries.
• Make journal entries, reconcile and perform research analysis on balance sheets and P&L accounts.
• Keep Journal Entry Log.
• Approve reconciliations and JEs prepared by staff.
• Submit for approval reconciliations and JEs self prepared.
• Prepare and adhere to monthly and annual closing schedules.
• Prepare client audit schedules.
• Provide support to tax consultant(s).
• Monitor expense variances to rolling forecast and work with responsible managers to understand them and change forecasts if necessary.
• Maintain bank cash management software.
• Set up G/L class code for new product class.
• Maintain the AAI tables.
• Supervise Accounts Payable and General Ledger department.
• Other duties as directed by the Assistant Controller.

REQUIREMENTS
• Requires a bachelor degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting or equivalent.
• Requires 2 years of experience as a General Accounting Manager.
• Must possess strong computer skills with a high level of proficiency in spreadsheet programs (Excel).
• Knowledge of Word, JD Edwards software, Internet and e-mail preferred.
• Must be detail oriented and possess ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Must possess time management skills and be able to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English both in verbal and written formats.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to interface with all levels of Meyer employees and outside vendors.
• Must posses mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties.
