Abroad Writer's Conferences is offering a fiction, poetry, playwriting and screenwriting contest open to all writers. Each first place winner will be a guest of honor at the July 3, 2006 Writer's Conference and Writing Workshops in France. The fiction, poetry and plays will also be published in the literary journal, "Driftwood." Value: $2,750.00 (prize does not include airfare) Second Place: $500.00.
The week-long sessions featured in the Abroad Writer's Conference take place in historic spots all around France. The July 3-10 session will be held in the Castle of Sedan, a 15th-century castle near the Champagne region. All session are taught by awarding winning writers, such as Jane Campion, Michael Ondaatje and Dan Chaon.
