Program & Facility Management

• Served as Executive consultant for the non-profit Marin Programs for Mental Recovery. Substantially expanded funding for this mental health facility, doubled grant funding, acquired state licensing, negotiated managed care contracts including major contracts with United Behavioral Healthcare and Managed Health Network and increased occupancy in the program. Grant development. Fundraising and Board development.
• Managed and developed a psychiatric program at Washington Hospital, Fremont, CA as Program Administrator with Horizon Mental Health Management and launched a new Geriatric Partial Hospitalization Program. Recruited physicians and nurses, supervised a staff of 54 with nurse managers, developed capital and operating budgets, acquired county contracts and obtained state licensing. JCAHO reviews, Title XXII.
Business Development & Marketing
• Increased revenues by 200% for Centralink and The Institute for Behavioral Healthcare by executing marketing campaigns to attract additional corporations, government agencies and healthcare providers to sponsor and participate in these organizations’ conferences. Negotiated key contracts with the CDC, DOJ and SAMHSA.
• Successfully doubled the number of managed care contracts for Washington Hospital psychiatric programs.
• Won numerous sales awards and ranked in the top 10 of 24 account executives in the top-performing sales office for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in the western United States.

• Created and implemented staff development for several Telecare managed Mental Health Rehabilitation Programs. This included New Employee Orientation, PART, Title XXII, OSHA, IIPP and HIPAA regulations.
• Regional training programs held at Mills College for six programs. Provided CEU’s for Nurses and MFT’s and LCSW’s. CARF specialist and training manager.

THE INSTITUTE FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE & CENTRALINK, Tiburon, California 1996 – 1999
Vice President, Marketing – downsized
• Directed marketing campaigns and initiatives to promote executive education conferences of the non-profit, Institute for Behavioral Healthcare, and conferences and journals of affiliated Centralink, a private, for-profit executive education firm. This included direct mail, telemarketing, grant development and trade shows/exhibits.
• Managed partnerships and negotiated contracts with pharmaceutical companies, managed care companies, state and federal mental and substance abuse agencies, community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, child and family service agencies, consumer and family advocacy groups, legal and healthcare consultants.
• Oversaw exhibit sales at the conferences to promote the benefits of active partnership/sponsorship.
• Supervised a staff of twelve in the marketing department. Responsible for all fundraising activities.
