Teacher wanted for evening ESL (English as a Second Language) program in Antioch, sponsored by Pittsburg Adult Education (see site http://www.optic-cc.org/de_overview.html). Teacher MUST have or be immediately eligible for current credential acceptable for teaching ESL in adult education (see below).
This program is year-round. You would teach 1-3 nights a week, 3 hours/night. Candidates should live close by (Antioch, Pittsburg, Brentwood) as traffic conditions make commuting impractical for evening work - seriously! Experience with a variety of levels of ESL is preferred. Experience with integrating computer skills with ESL learning is a plus. Our curriculum emphasizes job and survival skills.
Classes are Mondays-Thursdays, 6-9 p.m. Teacher provides three one-hour workshops (Beginner, High Beginner, Low Intermediate), working with 6-15 adults at a time. We prefer one teacher for all three nights, but will consider teachers who are available on a temporary basis or who wish to work one, two, or three nights.
Please respond ONLY if you fit ALL criteria above (location, credential, experience) ONLY by faxing or emailing resume and cover letter ASAP to: (Ms.) Jesse Golden, Program Director
