I have a Master's Degree in Child/Adolescent Psychology and over ten years of experience helping children with learning/social/emotional/behavioral needs, ADHD, mood disorders and Autism/PDD. I also have extensive experience with special education needs (IEP/504 Plans, proper placement, appropriate accommodations, related services), school discipline issues (including frequent suspension and expulsion concerns), in addition to a number of other issues which often arise in the school setting.
I have worked directly with special needs students in the public school setting while advocating with parents at necessary educational meetings and hearings, including IEP/504 development and review meetings, placement review meetings, and manifestation determination hearings.
My goal is to educate parents regarding their child's right to a "free and appropriate public education" and assist parents in purposefully collaborating with their child's school in order to develop an appropriate and effective educational program for their child. Parenting workshops offered.
