Contra Costa ARC is a non-profit human service agency that exists to enhance and enrich the lives of children at risk, and children and adults with developmental disabilities. Contra Costa ARC is now hiring for positions in the Early Intervention programs for children at the Lynn Center in Pittsburg; and the George Miller Center in Concord and Richmond. Children served will receive services in the following domains: speech and language, fine and gross motor, sensory integration, social/emotional, and self help. Services provided will be family centered and will include family support, parent counseling and education.

EARLY INTERVENTION SPECIALISTS
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or related field with experience teaching children with developmental delays. 12 Early Childhood Education units required including three units of Infant/Toddler Care. Good written and verbal communication skills. Must meet State Licensing requirements involving health screening and Department of Justice clearance.
Responsibilities include: Conducts classes for children in accordance with the instructional design and philosophy of the program. Evaluates each child in class and in all program activities. Develops appropriate goals with input from parent and other team members for each child in class. Plans and implements daily activities, including class, music and lunch. Participates in parent and staff meetings. Maintains close contact with parents and/or caregivers via personal contact, telephone calls, and notebooks. Supervises the work of the Early Intervention Assistant.
$16.00/hour and great benefits M-F: 8am -2pm in Pittsburg (30-35 hours per week)

EARLY INTERVENTION ASSISTANTS (TA)
Minimum Qualifications: HS Diploma, 12 Early Childhood Education Units, including 3 infant and toddler units, experience with infants and pre-school children (preferably children with developmental delays). Knowledge of developmental disabilities. Good written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with children on autism spectrum helpful. Must meet State Licensing requirements involving health screening and Department of Justice clearance.
Responsibilities include: Under the direction of the Early Intervention Specialist, plans and implements activities for small groups, including classes, music and lunch; supervises naptime and playtime; implements potty training. Provides input to Early Intervention Specialist for individual children related to behavior management and all other program activities.
$10 - 12 per hour (depending on experience and education) and great benefits
Pittsburg hours: M-F 8am -2pm
Concord and Richmond hours: 35 hours per week between M-F 8am - 4pm
