A growing art institute seeks a reliable driver to deliver and pick up fine art, and install exhibits on location.
Masterworks Institute for Works on Paper is based in San Francisco and specializes in works on paper (lithographs, etchings, monotypes, and engravings done by the artists themselves and printed during their lifetime) spanning 500 years. Our mission is to promote the education, appreciation, and participation of fine art. Masterworks strives to build significant collections, as well as facilitate public fine art auctions to help non-profits of various sizes and causes.
Masterworks Institute is an event-based visual arts organization that conducts small-scale exhibits. We are currently looking for a part-time driver and on-call drivers in the San Francisco Bay area. Having one’s own vehicle is a plus. We are willing to train a dependable and enthusiastic applicant.
Requirements:
Punctual
Ability to lift 40lbs
Drug- and smoke-free environment
Must have cell phone and current service
Clean DMV record and possession of current California drivers license
Owner of a station wagon, Covered pick-up truck, minivan or SUV
Business casual attire: Must wear collared shirt and slacks on duty. No tennis shoes
*Must live within 20 minutes of downtown San Francisco
Responsibilities:
Work well with the curator, sales team and gallery administrator
Report to manager after every shift
(Must attend monthly company meetings)
Load vehicle with inventory
Set up and break down exhibit, load and unload inventory
Available:
Wednesdays, afternoon and evening
Saturdays, afternoon and evening
Must be willing and able to drive within downtown San Francisco and to Sonoma/Napa region.
Preferred Qualities:
Bachelors Degree, including coursework in the arts
Previous experience in setting up fine art exhibits
At least 1 year driving experience
Personal Qualities: Enjoy driving, customer service oriented, command of the English language, ability to return phone calls immediately
Compensation: Depending on experience, per shift rates with possible vehicle allowance. No benefits.
Commitment: 1-year commitment, available to start immediately
