PACCC has an immediate opening for a full-time Preschool DIRECTOR at Sojourner Truth Child Development Center (STCDC). STCDC is an NAEYC-accredited program serving 32 children, ages 2-1/2 years through entry to kindergarten with a ratio of 1:8.

The qualifications and abilities we are looking for in a DIRECTOR:

DIRECTOR is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the child care center. Position requires the ability to effectively manage, develop, direct and lead both staff and center program. Position requires working knowledge, skill and ability to develop and follow licensing requirements and NAEYC standards. In addition, position requires the ability to:
1) research, analyze and propose program strategies that meet PACCC and center objectives;
2) monitor and evaluate existing programs against current trends;
3) design new and revise approaches to program to assure equity, legal compliance and competitiveness;
4) provide guidance and develop staff in the use of age-appropriate program trends and tools and NAEYC standards;
5) ability to work pro-actively with PACCC administration demonstrating strong teamwork ability;
6) must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and represent PACCC in a positive manner at all times.

PACCC has an immediate opening for a full-time Preschool ASSISTANT DIRECTOR at College Terrace Children's Center (CTC). CTC is an NAEYC-accredited program serving 32 children, ages 2-1/2 years through entry to kindergarten with a ratio of 1:8.

The qualifications and abilities we are looking for in an ASSISTANT DIRECTOR:

The ASSISTANT DIRECTOR is responsible for researching, developing and implementing program curriculum and procedures. The ASSISTANT DIRECTOR is responsible for assisting the DIRECTOR in managing and directing the assigned day care center, staff and administrative functions. An ASSISTANT DIRECTOR will assume the duties of Acting Director during the absence of the Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

DIRECTOR position requires possession of a Site Supervisor Permit. Possession of a Site Supervisor Permit by the ASSISTANT DIRECTOR is desirable.

Both positions require demonstrated significant knowledge of Child Care Programs and Licensing requirements as would be obtained through the attainment of a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or a related field, plus three to six years' experience, two of which should include staff supervisory and program development experience. Advanced degrees or certifications are preferred but not required. The following additional qualifications are desirable: CPR, First Aid certification.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS AND TEACHER’S AIDES

PACCC operates 7 Infant-Toddler-Preschool and 10 School-Age programs in Palo Alto and employs over 100 people. We welcome applications from individuals wishing to work part-time as a substitute Teacher or Teacher's Aide. Substitutes are kept working year round, and may determine the number of hours per day and which days of the week they are available to work -- perfect for students!
