This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Accounting Operations functions for the organization. This individual will be responsible for working to effectively influence all levels of management/employees, as well as working outside with external agencies, as required. The specific functional areas of responsibility will include supervision of the Accounting Operations functions including AP disbursements, Purchasing, payroll, stock administration, and other disbursement programs. As a member of the Financial Planning and Accounting senior team, this individual will participate in determination of Function-wide strategy. The Director, Accounting Operations will also be responsible for providing effective leadership to a staff of management, professional and administrative personnel.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a BA or BS degree (MBA and/or CPA preferred) with a focus in Accounting. This individual will have worked successfully in an accounting function in a dynamic, fast-paced organization, preferably in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company for a minimum of 7+ years. This individual will need to have demonstrated excellence in analytical skills as well as have outstanding influence and communication skills. The best candidates should also have demonstrated the ability to lead and motivate a highly talented staff of management, professional and administrative personnel.
